Freybug

Freybug is a monstrous Black Dog from medieval English folklore, specifically from Norfolk.

Etymology

The name "Freybug" is reportedly mentioned in an English manuscript from 1555.

Description/Morphology

Like most supernatural black dogs, it was roughly the size of a calf, and wandered country roads terrifying travellers.

Art/Fiction

The name has been reused in Final Fantasy XI.
